Sir,
As the American Ship "Sancho Panza" is preparing for sea,
I have to request that you will have the goodness to inform me what steps have been taken to effect the rendition of George Brown, a deserter from said Vessel. Brown is now on board the Prussian Transport, "Elbe" in this harbor. Captain Hale of the "Sancho Panza" is prepared to prove the desertion of the man George Brown.
