With reference to your letter of the 7th inst, I am directed by the Duke of Newcastle to transmit to you, for the information of the Lords of the Treasury, and for communication to the Comptroller General, a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hongkong, with a duplicate, and a report by the Acting Postmaster, showing the probable expenditure of the Hongkong Office, and the Agencies in China and Japan, at the Consular Ports, dated 23 April, 1860.
