# OFFICE OF SURVEYOR-GENERAL

## ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE NECESSARY TO BE INCURRED FOR the

### Streets in Suburbs, East and West.

## PLAN OR DESCRIPTION.

### Western Suburbs.

The Streets I propose to make this season will connect the several areas which it is desirable to offer for sale at as early a date as possible. The Roads now in course of formation under contracts for the Western Suburbs are proceeding with all possible dispatch.

The areas or Blocks in the vicinity of the Civil Hospital, West Point, comprise some of these areas. The completion of second Street between East and Centre Street, 167 feet of the latter and 105 feet of the former Street, will show the capabilities of the ground, and for this reason I am desirous of completing the works.

### Estimate:

Item 1. The completion of second Street between East and Centre Street:

  • 234.6 yards @ 4/2 = £48. 15. -
  • Filling, 105 cube yards @ 1/6 = £11. 13. 4
  • Total: £60. 8. 4

Item 2. The continuation of East Street, to join a Street I propose calling High Street:

  • 117 yards in length, cutting 36 cube yards @ 4/2 = £7. 10. -
  • Filling, 75.5 cube yards @ 1/6 = £6. 4. 2
  • Total: £13. 14. 2

High Street extends from Lot 3 to Lot 666 at Belcher's Road and will eventually join the Aberdeen Road South of the district.

Item 3. Extends a distance of 266 yards to its junction with East Street:

  • ROUGH retaining wall, 234.6 yards @ 4/2 = £48. 15. -
  • Filling, 100 cube yards @ 1/6 = £8. 6. 8
  • Total: £57. 1. 8

Item 4. A line of Road commencing at Lot N. 610 and passing through Lots N=591, 605, 576, etc.:

  • Filling, 260 cube yards @ 1/6 = £20. 16. 8
  • Filling, 66.10 cube yards @ 1/6 = £5. 10. -
  • ROUGH retaining wall, 145.8 yards @ 4/2 = £30. 8. 4
  • Total: £66. 10. - + £30. 8. 4 = £96. 18. 4

The whole forming a total length of 2066 yards.

Approved,

(Signed) H. M. Robinson

Governor.
