advised me if to better place I had to the Portuguese Police Station to sleep. I went to the station and found it was a Military Police Station containing about 100 men with the Guard Room beds. However, I got a pretty tidy place for the two petitioners and provided them with a supper and some money for anything unexpected that might occur, and accommodation for myself and Interpreter convenient to the station. What with being sick on the steamer and those two walks, the Petitioner So-pang was very much exhausted indeed and she was so anxious about the result of tomorrow, she could not eat anything, no amount of persuasion would make her try.
