Hongkong passage

On arriving on board, I told my story to a passenger who was kind enough to pay for my passage to Hongkong, where I arrived on the 12th inst. I went to Shum Ahing's house and demanded my two relatives. He appeared surprised to see me and asked me when and how I came away.

He got very angry with me, telling me that he would get a Portuguese (who was then present in Shum Ahing's house) to seize me and take me away.

I complained to the Protector of Chinese. The Portuguese who was in the house I recognized again today in a house to which I was taken by the Protector of Chinese.

I feel confident that my 32 companions whom I left in the Barracoon at Macao are all detained there against their will, and that they would never have gone to such a place had they not been deceived and entrapped.
