" is to be settled by counsel and the Proctor of the claimant is to attend to be sworn thereto and the Judge will assign a day for hearing - Copies of the claim and affidavit are to be furnished to the Proctor for the Brown and should the counsel for the Brown be satisfied on the point he is to consent to restitution on payment of salvage and expenses.

The rate of salvage is fixed at one-eighth after the expenses on both sides are deducted.

Such is an outline of the train of proceedings in the Vice Admiralty Court. I have endeavoured to make out a list or account of the costs of such proceedings but I find I can hardly give even an approximate idea of the amount. As an Advocate, I cannot say that I have the required knowledge to make out a Bill of hypothetical costs; But I am sure the Registrar of the Vice Admiralty Court who is
