Mr Austin has not signified his intention of availing himself of this offer, and I imagine that he has so far arranged his financial matters as to render it unnecessary for him to make any demand on the Colonial Treasury.

It has been notified to Mr Austin that Mr Rennie, Auditor General, has been appointed to audit his Emigration Accounts.

I shall have the honour to address your Grace again on this point, when I shall have learnt the nature and extent of the duties this imposed upon Mr Rennie.

I have the honour to be My Lord Duke, Your Grace's, Most Obedient Servant

Rawson W. Rawson
