The appointment of Governor being at the present moment vacant, I take the liberty of respectfully bringing under Mr. Labouchere's attention &c. any further length of Service in this Colony, the length & terms of which I have held during the late Governor's absence, & administered the Government above 17 months.
The nature of my Services will appear at the Colonial Office, and therefore I do not trouble you with any detail on the subject, but beg leave to solicit in your favourable consideration in any future arrangement that may be in contemplation & I have the honour to be
