With reference to the Letter from this Board, dated the 30th Ultimo, approving of the increase, under certain conditions, of the salary of the Attorney General of Hong Kong; I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, to transmit to you, for the information of Sir E. Bulwer Lytton, the enclosed copy of a Letter from the Foreign Office, expressing Lord Malmesbury's concurrence in this measure.
