The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, having had under their consideration, your Letter of the 23rd Instant, recommending an arrangement for the remuneration of the Attorney General of Hongkong, consequent upon the dismissal of Mr Chisholm Anstey, from that Post, I am directed to acquaint you, for the information of Sir E. Bulwer Lytton, that My Lords approve of the salary of this Officer being fixed at fifteen hundred pounds per annum, with the understanding that he is not to engage in private practice.
They are not aware how far the altered position of the Diplomatic and Consular ...
