I have laid before the Postmaster General your letter of the 20th ult., enclosing copy of a despatch from the Lieutenant Governor of Hong Kong reporting that he had sanctioned an increase of salary to one of the Clerks in the Hong Kong Post Office, and forwarding enclosures containing suggestions of the Acting Postmaster of Hong Kong, with regard to sorting the outward Mails on board the Packet during the voyage from Singapore and for improving the mode of distributing the Mails.
