Merivale and, with reference to the Letter from the Colonial Office of the 15th Instant is directed by Lord John Russell to state, for the information of His Grace The Duke of Newcastle that the Queen's Exequatur empowering Mr. C. Brodersen to act as Hanoverian Consul at Hong Kong has this day received Her Majesty's Signature.
The Notification of Her Majesty's Approval of Mr. Brodersen's Appointment will appear in the "Gazette" of this day.
