direct the consuls to address their Requisitions accordingly

In like manner you are to direct their Consuls to send their accounts in future direct to the Colonial Auditor, & to furnish that Officer with all such Explanations with regard to the accounts as may require, and the Colonial Auditor, after the preliminary audit of the accounts has been done through, will transmit them to the Audit Office in London.

In short, in regard to all matters touching the issue of money & account for its expenditure,

The Commissariat Department & the Colonial Auditor will continue to perform the same services as they have hitherto rendered, but modified and extended in so far as is necessary, in consequence of the abolition of the Superintendency.

But in order entirely to relieve you as Chief Superintendent from any duties of this description, it is necessary to place under the Chief Secretary the Payment of the Expenses of his department in the same manner as the Payment of the Expenses of the several Consulates are placed under the Consuls.
