It happened recently to the French Frigate "Laplace" in the China Seas, and stating that it is important to Malewski's intention & express, through the French Ambassador at this court, the gratitude of the Superior Government for the assistance afforded to Baron Gros, on that occasion by some of Her Majesty's Ships, and for the hospitable reception with which His Excellency was greeted on his arrival at Hong Kong by Admiral Seymour and the Governor.
