I transmit herewith, for your information, a copy of an Order in Council dated the 3rd instant, providing for the exercise of jurisdiction over British subjects in Japan under the 6 & 7 Vict., cap. 94. A draft of which was enclosed in my despatch N°16 of the 24th ultimo.
