I am directed by the Lord President of the Council to transmit to you the enclosed Order of Her Majesty in Council of this day's date repealing prohibitions on the trade of Her Majesty's subjects with China, imposed by Orders in Council of the 24th February 1843 & 13th June 1855;
and I am to request that you will be pleased to lay the same before the Secretary of State for the Colonial Department.
