I am directed by the Secretary of State to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 7th instant and to convey to you his authority to pay to Mr. E. R. Michell, late Assistant Harbour Master at Hong Kong, the half salary due to him for the period between the 23rd May and 28th Sept last, amounting to two hundred and fifty pounds.
