With reference to your letter of the 31st ult. on the subject of the Pension payable to C. R. Michell from Hong Kong, I have the honor to acquaint you, for the information of Secretary for the Colonies, E. B. Lytton, that it appears that there is a balance of six months half Salary due to Mr. Michell, namely from the 23rd Aug to the 23rd Sept last, and I have to request that you will favor me with a reply to enable me to communicate with H. Merivale.
