I beg therefore to recommend
that the vacant seat be conferred on the Attorney
General - the officer
next in rank to the Colonial Secretary -
as soon as
either Mr Adams shall
return to the
Office
or a
person
be
permanently appointed to succeed
him, and in the mean
time I
have appointed the Acting Attorney General, Mr Frederick William Green, to a provisional and temporary seat in the Executive Council, until Her Majesty's pleasure be made Known.
