I have the honor to report that Dr. Murray, the Colonial Surgeon, has made a strong representation of the necessity of certain alterations and improvements in the new Civil Hospital, which he considered necessary before the transfer of his patients to it.

I have to convey to you my Approval of the expenditure of £200, which was sanctioned by your Predecessor, for effecting certain alterations and improvements in the New Civil Hospital at Hong Kong, as reported in Lt Governor Caine's despatch No.20113 of the 20th June last.
