Messrs De Silver & Co. have
desired me to be the medium of
communicating to the Colonial Government
a proposition from an American Company for lighting the Town of Victoria with gas. The same Company have their works
now in operation at the Havannah
and in Mauritius and contemplate extending their operations to Shanghai.
Should the Government be inclined to
entertain the matter local legislation
