There were no accounts of the Parliamentary grant for the Colony distinguished from those for Diplomatic Services, I pointed out to you that you Government had been regularly supplied with such accounts. Upon this you made the remark that there were some years in which no grants were made by Parliament for the Colony. This fact is well known; I think you will perceive on reflection that it has nothing to do with the fact that accounts were furnished of the grants that were made.
W. Fash's integrity has never been in question. But I repeat to say that I find nothing in your despatch or his report to invalidate the conclusion that the account which he gave was inaccurate and irregular, and that the reprimand which he received was justified.
