They fear lest, if an attempt be made to raise them beyond the point at which fixed, it may operate to deter some at all from Attending Divine service

"may mention that the Fausters are about by this mail to order from England a most complete and efficient Organ at an Expence of £425. The freight and insurance out together with the necessary alterations in the Gallery will involve a further outlay of £100. but for these purposes they do not intend applying any portion of the Cathedral funds.

They have further requested the Revd Sir Gowen Oriseley Professor of albusie at the University of Oxford to select for them a regularly trained Organist to accompany the Instrument at a salary of £200 per annum.

Under these circumstances and to meet an unexpected outlay of a sum Exceeding in amount the pew rents for two whole years. I venture in the name of the Trustees to solicit at the hands of His Excellency a grant from the Colonial Treasury of $300 in aid of the restoration of the Cathedral.
