will act as Chief Magistrate of Police and Emigration Officer : –
These appointments will bear date from the 10th instant, and you will therefore draw from the 11th instant inclusive, the half of all Mr. Hilliers' and
of your own, viz.:
£900
or
£500, and £100 and £300. Should Mr. Hillier's vacancy not
have been filled up at home by the 10th instant, each officer
will be entitled to claim arrears of the full pay of each
office...
