You will be required to pay the amount at the reduced rate on evacuation.

It is necessary that you should state whether you are proceeding to Hong Kong alone or accompanied by any member or members of your family.

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Lordship's letter of the 7th instant, enclosing a despatch for Governor Sir John Bowring.

In reply, I have to state that I proceed to Hong Kong alone and shall be quite ready to embark at the appointed time.

I will call at the Colonial Office to pay the amount of passage money required.
