Authorities.

Should there with other evidences of my qualification for the office, which I can easily obtain, be sufficiently satisfactory to secure your approval of me for the appointments I will do my utmost endeavours to deserve your approbations by careful, punctual and judicious performance of the important duties attached to the office.

I have the honor to be Your most Obedient Servant, John Falconer

This vacancy has been reported. The Governor asks that it may be filled as soon as possible by a Gentleman accustomed to treat the diseases of the Tropics.

See 118104 211835.

This gentleman is strongly recommended by Mr. Quckett in 11835. Mr. Quckett is a man of the highest reputation. I should think Mr. Falconer must be a good candidate in case Dr. Menzies is not to be appointed; but Dr. Bausing has contrived to create such a mass of confusion about Dr. Menzies that it is hard to say whether he can be selected or not.
