45 In the supposition that the Colonial Treasurer's entire Salary is available, His Excellency sanctions Mr. Reinhard and Mr. Syndman drawing each one half of it, at the rate of $300 a year.
Both these Gentlemen will however understand that should Mr. Pienacker's half Salary be otherwise appropriated, whatever amount is overdrawn on this account will have to be refunded by them.

In continuation of my despatch No. 20 of 29 Ultimo, I have now the honour to report that Ahlum the Baker and nine others have been tried and acquitted at the Criminal Sessions of the Supreme Court, on the Capital charge of administering poison with intent to murder.
The trial lasted 5 days.
