Commissariat Officer in the

Shaits, that a subordinate

of his Department shall

Accompany

the party-

Conclude that the Commissariat

Department at Victoria,

will make all necessary purchases and

furnish all the requisite supplies - It will be the duty of the

Commissariat subordinate with the Detachments, to superintend the distribution

of

the Rations, and to see that the Rules of the Service are strictly adhered to.

It is desirable that all

the disbursements should be

made by the Colonial Government, but should the Madras Commissariat

Department be at

any

time

called on to make purchases,

I beg that the requisite Funds may be furnished receipt of that Department Countersigned by the Officer Commanding

the Madras

Troops, such accounts will

be rendered to the Commissariat Officer in the Shaits, who will "adjust them in the regulated
