I hereby Certify-
12th That the above leave was granted to the Hon'ble. W. I. Mercer, Esqre. on the 18th of February, 1857, and on the 14th August, 1888, on the ground of ill health; and that the Medical Certificate was produced, of which a copy is annexed.
3rd That The Hon'ble. W. I. Mercer, Esqre. has served the Government for Thirteen years and 238 days.
3rd that in the course of that service he has been absent on leave on several occasions at the dates and for the periods specified below; viz.-
In the year 1846-47 - 1 month and 25 days, beginning the 25th June, and ending the 17th November, 1847.
In the year 1846-47 - 16 Days.
In the year 1849 - 111 Days.
In the years 1850 and 1851 - 1 year, 5 months, and 25 Days, beginning on the 26th May, 1850, and ending on the 10th November, 1851.
In the year 1852 - 41 Days.
In the year 1853 - 58 Days.
In the year 1854 - 11 Days.
In the year 1855 - 12 Days.
In the year 1856 - 13 Days.
4th That provision has been made for the due execution of The Hon'ble. W. I. Mercer, Esqre's. office, during his absence, by the appointment of William Thomas Bridges, Esquire.
Note. Officers who may be under the necessity of applying to the Secretary of State for an extension of their leave of absence, are requested to annex this document to their applications, and in order to meet this contingency it will be furnished to them in Duplicate.
