Despatch 1.12 of 14th instant, I have again urged
on
the
Governor General of India the

necessity for reinforcements but sufficient time has not elapsed for the receipt of His Lordship's reply.
There
is
of course some
obstruction in the supply of
provisions from the mainland, but as yet this has not been felt to any great extent beyond
the rise in prices.
