request conveyed through the

United States Consul went in

search of a Pirate Fleet under

the Island of Lingling, but he has not yet returned.

Sir Michael Seymour stated that he had not the means

of undertaking such an expedition He arrived here on the night of the 22nd Instant, and has since been in constant conference with the Executive Council which has met daily. He will return after the arrival of the mail of

10th December now overdue.
