It appears that he has confirmed the Consul's life in question to Her Hillier. There consequently submitted to the Queen the name of her Henry Frederick Davies Jnr in the appointment of Chief Justice, and the Instrument of Appointment, and usual warrant will be forwarded to you by early opportunity.

Mr Davies is a barrister of the English Bar, and satisfactory testimonials have been received as to his professional abilities, and also of his possessing the qualifications necessary for the efficient discharge of the duties of the Office in which he has been selected.
