On the 29 July 1856 I had the honor of addressing to you a Despatch with an appendix which the position I was placed in rendered it imperative on me to do in order to vindicate my professional Character. Such I sent the same day through the official channel to His Excellency the Governor of this Colony.
From the perusal of such my Despatch arose letters No 543 of 30 July and No 1731 of the 31st July and my replies thereto No 6143 of 31 July and No 62 of 2 August all which I requested might be added to the appendix.
In a letter No 552 Aug 1856 The Honorable Colonial Secretary announced to me the very unusual and extraordinary proceeding I had demonstrated against viz:
