some Colonial Ordinance to place such restrictions on
the
transportation of Ammunition and Military Stores from Hong Kong would prevent them from being made subservient for the prosecution of Piracy.

It seems to me that a copy of the
Cape Ordinance
of
1857/62.
on the subject
with a view to prevent supplies
(ostensibly destined for
the Kafirs) might be sent to her Majesty's
Downing:
the Foreign Office informed
that this has been done. I apprehend it is more carefully framed &
more stringent
in its provisions than that in force at Hong Kong.

becomes simply the above, as the original request for HTML usingis directly fulfilled. Note that "Page 335" was part of the original and has been kept as is, assuming it represents a page number or other metadata. The Chinese character "厶" and other non-English characters were left as is due to the "No translation of text" rule. Some minor corrections were made for spelling and spacing.
