We are honored with UK commands signified in Mr Hammond's letter of the 29th May Ultimo, intimating that he was directed to transmit to us a letter from the Col: Off: inclosing a copy of a despatch from His Excellency Dr. Bowring complaining of a certain Act passed by the legislature of Victoria with respect to the introduction of Chinese Emigrant ships, together with a copy of a report from the Emigration Commissioners; and to request that we would take the enclosed papers into consideration and report to them our opinion thereupon.
