draft W. Murdoch prepared the draft instructions. I therefore sent this letter to him and he advises

that all which is necessary is to convey to the

Admiralty

the

suggestion of the Law

Officer

in their very

words. For

nothing of

the mode of pro-

ceeding

in

Admiralty Courts in the matter

of Prizes and Prize Courts. I confess I have doubted the

necessity

of

the Law Officers' opinion on this

matter, but it is not for the

unlearned to question the

dictates of

such Authorities. I

have added a sentence to the

draft communicating

the Law Officers' Report.
