Having laid before my Lord Commissioners of the
Admiralty your
letter of the
19th March, with its enclosed copy
of one from Mr W. T. Bridges relative to the suppression of Piracy
in the Chinese Ports; I am
commanded by their Lordships
to acquaint you, for the information of Mr. Secretary Labouchere,
that the
measures have been
taken by the Naval Commander
in Chief for protecting the
