represent that I have received private letter from Colonel "Edwardes" of Lahore in which he intimates to take the Criminals sentenced here to transportation, and offering to make application to the Home Government should I see no Objection.
I have written intimating stating that I'll none, but on the contrary his proposition may relieve the Government of a great and growing difficulty.
