An incident, coupled with other concurring circumstances, has prompted me to submit to this climate for the purpose of resuming the duties of my office, which may cause the Registrarship of this Colony to become vacant. I am indeed, respectfully and earnestly, praying that His Excellency The Governor may be pleased, in the event of Mr. Kinaecker's relinquishment of his office, to consider the long period of my service under Her Majesty's Government, and whatever limited degree of ability I possess for the efficient performance of the duties entrusted to me.
I have reasonable grounds for promotion, and I respectfully request that you will be pleased to afford your powerful support and recommendation to Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies for my succeeding to the post of my immediate Official Superior.
I therefore beg respectfully to request that you will be pleased to lay this, my humble application, before the Council.
