to the High Honorable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, by which course your Excellency is only anticipating a request to effect which it would have lain with us eventually to place before you - much preferred as we have been enabled to have been allowed to afford your Excellency the opportunity of sending home the full correspondence by the present Mail, but your Excellency's reply is now acknowledged.
A further rejoinder involving various matters of detail, which so shortly before the dispatch of the Mail, we regret we are unable to place properly before you, becomes necessary for us to forward, and it therefore becomes necessary for us to beg that your Excellency will forward this letter with the Minutes of the Public Meeting and the previous correspondence.
We request that he will defer his decisions to the Right Honorable the Right Secretary of State, together with a request from the part of the Community.
