consideration a case in equity in which he had been compelled to pay Costs of the Crown to the amount of several hundred dollars while a case in Admiralty was fresh in the recollection of many. It is to the extension, as your Excellency is pleased to term it, of Common Law side of the Supreme Court; an extension rendered completely one-sided, be it remarked, in its operation that the meeting unanimously decided to object.
Of the 281 cogent arguments which convinced Your Excellency of the expediency of the provision we are of course unable to judge, but cogent as your Excellency states them to be and strongly adverse to the enactment as was the expressed opinion of Public Meeting, it would have been more satisfactory to the Public had Your Excellency deigned to particularise in some degree the nature of these Arguments
