there are now in Hongkong
four such convicts not Military, I shall be glad of early instruction,
as to their Disposal.
One man is under sentence
for Seven, two for Ten years,
and one for Life.
This last is an American
convicted at the recent Criminal
Sessions of Manslaughter, and one of whom it is expedient that the
removal should be speedily made.
I cannot too strongly
express my hope that some decision on
this subject
be arrived at
without delay.
