With respect to the appointment of a Committee to cooperate with the government on matters connected with the public interest, His Excellency has no objection to its existence, its functions being understood to be merely suggestive or consultative, and deriving no authority from Ordinance or Proclamation. Its duration or continuance will be a question for the future consideration of the Governor in Council.
