Calcutta Mint was 24 lakhs Rupees of which 11 lakhs were expended on the Machinery and 13 lakhs on the Buildings.

The Silver Melting Room contains 16 furnaces, 4 Cranes, pouring frames, 3 Triturating Mills, and 2 washing Machines or dross Agitators.

The Laminating Room is composed of two 10-H.P.S. Engines, Breaking down Mills & Rolling Mills, 2 large pairs of Shears, 4 pairs of Circular Shears and 8 Reverberatory furnaces.

The five rolling cutting Milling Departments are worked jointly by a 24 H.P.S. Engine and the Machinery consists of 6 fire rolling Mills, 18 Cutting presses & double Milling frames and 11 Shaking Machines.

The annealing pickling and drying Room Contains 44 Reverberatory furnaces, Blanching pickling boiler & drying Moves and 8 shaking Machines.

The Coining Department Composed of a 20 H.P.S. Engine and air exhausting Machinery. There are 12 stamping presses capable of turning out about 350,000 pieces in a working day of 7 hours.
