advisable to continue the Discussion with these Gentlemen, yet I cannot but remark that their denial as to the Chief Justice's allusion from the Bench is ungrounded though they lay great stress on it; and that the Chief Justice did certainly make allusion to the cases decided by the Magistrates is officially proven by the Report of the Attorney General and repeated and confirmed by that officer in his letter of 30th August, already transmitted in my above referred to Despatch.
