Amount fixed.
In the 18th June last night were sold about your miles from Victoria, lying on this road, as is vernited in my despatch No. 147 of 14th June, and it became necessary to resume measures for retaining the road and rendering it suitable for carriages.
Accordingly Captain Cooper was directed to revise Mr Cleverly's contract, and he being of opinion that all the prices were too low at current rates, increased them by 25 per cent, and the report and estimate as amended I have now the honor to forward for your approval.
In the mean time, as the work is one of necessity, and the season favourable, approaching I have sanctioned Captain Cooper proceeding with it at once.
The amount of the contract, as will be seen, is £2049, 6.5¼.
I have the honor to be, with the highest respect, Sir, your most obedient humble servant.
