And I felt great difficulty in giving my assent to them, but at the same time I could not but acknowledge that the education and position of the Barristers created for them a special claim to consideration, and that they from that field of enormous abuses and irregularities grouped round the lower departments of the profession.

4. That section (of which Mr Tarsons complains) is on the very face of it protective of solicitors. It is a sound constitutional principle to limit as far as possible the legal exactions of litigants and to discourage interlocutory proceedings whose general purpose is to delay decisions and maximize the costs of obtaining them.
