That the said ordinance introduces qualifications for Candidates for Admission thereto unknown to the Laws of the United Kingdom and which are not only detrimental to the present interests of your Petitioners but are eminently calculated to prove injurious to the Community.
That the opening of fresh Channels by which to obtain admission to the Profession seriously interferes with the exclusive privileges heretofore enjoyed by your Petitioners of taking Articles when they were enabled to obtain them during the period of such articles the gratuitous services of able and intelligent Clerks in addition to the premium ordinarily paid on such Articles.
That such provisions are calculated to prove injurious to the interests of the public by introducing a lower and less highly-Educated class to the Profession by rendering unnecessary the hitherto required period of servitude.
