Assault & Battery.
The undersigned begs leave respectfully to enter his Protest against the Action of this Court in this case.
First: Because the Plaintiff is a seaman belonging to the American Ship "Annie Buchanan" from which he lately deserted; and the Defendant is Chief Master of the Sound "Herpe", from which neither of them has yet received a discharge.
Second: Because the alleged Assault and Battery is charged to have been committed on board an American Ship; and the Assault and Battery committed did not violate any British Law, nor did it affect...
