and the space between it and the houses to be private property. Such is a sketch of what is proposed, and in order to carry it into execution it will be necessary to make the two walls further out than has been contemplated by individuals, and they will therefore be more expensive. In consideration, however, of previous giving the

benefit of the proposed roadway, Government will bear part of the expense of creating the sea-wall; and will also be ready to grant permission to the public to carry out piers beyond low water mark - such piers to be their private property. And Government will also be ready to grant an increase

of the lots when it may be wished, by selling the line of the Queen's Road further inland.
